Stanley Webb Davies lived in Bowness-on-Windermere and was a leading furniture maker during the Arts and Crafts Movement. His home and former workshop was bequeathed to the Quakers, is now part of the Gatesbield Quaker Housing Association site. The glass slides in the gallery form part of a wider archive collection held at Gatesbield into Stanley Webb Davies and his work.
