St Thomas' Church, Broad Street, Pendleton, the Parish Church of Pendleton, still surounded as it was in this 1977 view by the busy A6 underpass heading toward the cities of Salford and Manchester. A Commissioners' Church it was built in 1829-31 for £7,673 to the design of Francis Goodwin and Richard Lane.
