The magnificent church organ at St Luke's, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, on which the composer Mendelssohn played for over an hour during a visit to the church in April 1847. Some of the organ pipes were removed in 1975, when the church was closed and later demolished, and relocated in the church of St Thomas and St John, Radcliffe.
