HRS 304 MBBC, Hinds looking back towards Bury 1973

This picture taken in 1973 shows the industrialisation along the sides of the canal. An original but repaired 18th century bridge still survives and beyond it the Daisyfield railway viaduct. Notice the number of factory chimneys at that time and the use of stone from Rossendale quarries to produce a 'stone fence' on the right of the image.
