HRS 3782 Huddersfield narrow canal, Standedge tunnel c1971

Sunlight shines down into the west portal of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Standedge Tunnel. The Canal is one of the gems of the industrial revolution, the 5,500 yard tunnel links Lancashire and Yorkshire. It was built 1794-1811. It is the longest and highest canal tunnel in Britain.
