Although Dolgarrog is an old village in the Conwy Valley it is one transformed with the construction of an aluminium smelting and rolling mill and company village from 1924. The hydro-electric scheme supplied water to a power station at the plant from the 1920s. There is a complicated network of huge pipes and tunnels in the hills above Dolgarrog still supplying water for the generation of electricity.
There are two other photo galleries about Dolgarrog, one about the Dam Disaster and another about the Aluminium Works.
