Salford Local History Library houses an extensive collection of images and information about the City. Historically a very important place at the heart of the industrial revolution. It is now a dramatically changing city. It once had docks on the Manchester Ship Canal, the Duke of Bridgewater's in the the 18th C had coal mines and an underground canal system at Worsley and pioneering forward thinking public library and art gallery for its residents.
