HRS 494 Wycoller Hall and bridge 1980s

Wycoller or Wycollar Hall is a 16th to 17th century house ruin situated near the village of Trawden in Lancashire. The tiny community was used in the film "The Railway Children" and featured in literature as Fearn Dean Manor in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre. The photo taken in the 1980s shows the Hall, a listed building and a stone clapper bridge in the left foreground. Tradition says that every year the Hall is visited by the ghost of a lonely horseman dressed in the clothing of the early Stuart Period.
