HRS 2319 Kirkhead cave, Allithwaite

Kirkhead Cave is an important archaeological cave situated on private land to which access is restricted.
The cave has over the years revealed many finds ranging from a human tibia, teeth, and vertabrae, as well as flint implements. It is thought that human burial took place in the cave and activity occurred from late Neolithic to Roman times.
