HRS 3783 Glasson dock 1970s

A short branch of the Lancaster Canal led down to Glasson Dock. (1787) This allowed the transference of cargoes from canal to ship and vice versa. Small sea-going vessels left on the high tide along the River Lune passed Sunderland Point.
