HRS 2269 Lake District, Stott Park bobbin mill flywheel

A horizontal steam engine provided power for the bobbin mill at Finsthwaite. The engine was made by Bradley of Leeds. The wood shavings from the floor of the mill were used in the boiler to raise steam. The photo shows the flywheel, eccentrics and governor. (right) 1968
