An albumen silver print of the Ogwen Falls at the head of the Nant Ffrancon Pass in North Wales taken in 1857.
Roger Fenton was a pioneer English photographer born at Crimble Hall, Heywood in Lancashire. He was a pioneer in photography famous for his work photographing the Royal Family,and recording the Crimean War. He also excelled taking many photos of North Wales, the Lake District and the area around Stonyhurst College in the Ribble Valley.
