HRS 1556 Radholme limekiln interior detail

The Radholme lime-kiln is unusually large. The interior shows how it was constructed. There are at least two hearths of differing dates of construction. It appears to have been built into an existing earthwork as well as having foundations on the hard Carboniferous limestone.
PHOTO: An interior shot detailing how the lime-kiln was arched over and supported by the local Carboniferous limestone. 2011.
