HRS 1560 Charging area at top of limekiln Radholme

The Radholme lime-kiln is unusually large. It appears to have been built into an existing earthwork as well as having foundations on the hard Carboniferous limestone. Coal was the main fuel used in producing lime at this site, there are many small pieces still on the ground near the top of the structure. 2011.
