HRS 2905 Old coal workings nr Radcliffe cemetery

The seven pits were a series of medieval shallow ladder-pit coal mine shafts following an outcrop. It is situated between Coventry road and Greenbank Road, Radcliffe. It was also known as 'Curnbry'. There were several other coal pits nearby that help form part of the series.
