HRS 2903 Radcliffe, Coal pit remains NW corner Radcliffe Cemetery c1970

The seven pits were a series of medieval shallow ladder-pit coal mine shafts following an outcrop. It is situated between Coventry road and Greenbank Road, Radcliffe. It was also known as 'Curnbry'. The photo shows another one close by part of the series.
