Downham is small picturesque Lancashire village to the north of Pendle Hill. The picture taken from the church clearly shows the ice-shaping of Pendle during the Ice Age. To the left is Pendle 'Big End' the lower moulded slops probably marks a later stage of glaciation towards the end of the Ice Age.
