HRS 4450 Ashton-under-Lyne, Fairbottom Bobs

An early Newcomen Atmospheric steam engine used to pump water out of a local pit. It is thought to have been installed in the 18th century, and in 1929 it was purchased by Henry Ford and is now preserved in the Dearborn Museum in the USA.
