HRS 137 Boat on edge MBBC breach

In 1936 there was a disastrous breach that caused the water in the summit level of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal to escape into the nearby River Irwell. The Nob End breach sealed the fate for the canal and was never repaired.
