HRS 7387 Backbarrow, diverted river Leven at Whitewater Hotel
The stone road bridge across the River Leven at Backbarrow effectively acted as a dam when the floodwater flow became too great, the river then took the easiest course and demolished at wall (centre) flowing back in to its original course.
