The mill steam engine photographed on the last day of operation on the 20th December 1978. It was built in 1907 by SS Stott Engineers of Haslingden, a firm literally just a few hundred yards down the road. Grane Manufacturing Company was a cotton mill, part of the weaving shed was still operational. KH See also a short 16mm film shot on the same day of the engine. http://youtu.be/1Kkxy624yUQ (You Tube)
