Hest Bank near Morecambe was one of the traditional crossing places across the treacherous waters and quicksands of Morecambe Bay. It is also the only place on the west coast main railway line that effectively comes next to the sea. The view is taken looking northwards towards the Lake District mountains and the shoreline around Warton.
