HRS 4303 Troy Quarry, Haslingden, slickenside

The place where movement of rocks took place, a fault, the sliding of the rocks of rocks against one another during an earthquake can produce striations, marks known as slickensides. BGS: Lower Haslingden Flags - Sandstone. Sedimentary Bedrock formed approximately 313 to 314 million years ago in the Carboniferous Period. Local environment previously dominated by swamps, estuaries and deltas.
