Flimby is a small 'industrial' community on the west coast of Cumbria. Much of the former coalmining and other industrial areas have now been reclaimed. Hidden in the woodland of Flimby Woods are several coal mines, colliery railways and inclines, and most important of all (and hard to find) is the Flimby Iron Furnace dating to around the 1st quarter of the 18th century. The photos were taken 2018 during a field trip of the Cumbria Industrial History Society.
