HRS 754 Whitworth, Facit Quarry

A drystone wall of considerable dimensions in the Facit quarry in Rossendale. The structure is reminiscent of the quarry methodology of the north Wales slate quarries which used stone walling for supporting wagon ways and inclines. There is a considerable amount of graffiti on the many of the sandstone blocks.
