HRS 477 Hampsfell Hospice

On the limestone pavement of Hampsfell above Grange over Sands is Hampsfell Hospice. Built by the vicar of nearby Cartmel in 1846 as 'a shelter for travellers' it is popular destination for walkers. From the top of the Hospice there are oustanding views of the Lakeland Hills, Morecambe Bay, and on a good day the Welsh Hills. There is a rotable indicator on the top pointing to various places in the distance.
