HRS 184 Mr Stephenson's blunder

Robert Stephenson to his credit realised the importance of Conwy Castle during his plans and construction of the Chester to Holyhead Railway (1844). Victorian engineers were confident in their abilities, unfortunately Stephenson did not get his tunneling correct between Conwy's ancient casle walls. The tower has now been stabilised but the cracks are there for all to see.
