HRS 7047 Bolton-le-Sands, cornmill

The 19thC corn mill was supplied with water from a spring to the east of the railway where water was accumulated in a large pond. The water then flowed beneath the railway to supply a large waterwheel. The waterwheel was in the projecting section of the mill behind the white car on the right. Later the waterwheel was replaced with a water turbine. The mill is now use a furniture retail outlet and there are few surviving features inside.
