HRS 1982 Castlehead, Sluice from south

Prior to the construction of the railway this land was easily inundated by the tide. John Wilkinson reclaimed much of the land above the staunch gates and built extensive embankments to prevent flooding. PHOTO: Sluice or staunch from the south.
