Sadly, Jack Manning from Flookburgh died 2019. He was was associated with fishing in Morecambe Bay almost all his life. As a tribute to Jack, I have left his Photo Gallery on the website. Jack was akeen local historian and a man passionate about the local fishing industry and its history.
Notes: Morecambe Bay is a vast expanse of tidal sands in the north west of England, to the south of the Lake District and west of the Lancashire coast. It is the largest expanse of inter-tidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom and an internationally important wintering site for many 1000s of birds.

Morecambe Bay is also known for the tragic disaster on 5th Feb 2004 when at least 21 illegal Chinese cockle pickers were drowned by the fast-rising tide.
