Darwen, Jubilee Tower

Jubilee Tower is more generally known as Darwen Tower. It was built on a hillside overlooking the town to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and celebrate new access for local people to adjacent moorland. Opened to the public on 24th Sep 1898. It is 85 feet high and offers views to the Lancashire coast, Pennines, The Lake District and North Wales.
