HRS 7954 Lowgill, Septarian nodules and fossil

In the streams and river beds of the area concretions known as sepatarian nodules occur. They were created in the Carboniferous sandstones of the area. The rock at the front that appears stippled is different, it is a fossil root stock of a Carboniferous tree Stigmaria.
