Appleby is small remote country town in the east of Cumbria.
It is overlooked by Appleby Castle. 'The annual Appleby Horse Fair, is held regularly in early June, earliest record suggests since at least the 12th century with a charter made by Henry II brings Gypsies from all over Britain to the town.' wikipedia
