The Adelphi Street co-operative society was built on a side road away from the main Radcliffe to Ainsworth Road. Although in this shot the building is occupied by Peter J Hopkinson plumbers merchant, it was once a thriving business. There were plans to develop the eastern side of Radcliffe with housing which never reached fruition. Perhaps that is the reason for its unusual off-footfall location.
