HRS 2831 Radcliffe, Terraced housing 1950s

The photo taken in the 1950s before the Clean Air Acts shows the terraced housing to the East of St Thomas's Church Tower in Radcliffe from where the picture was taken.

Notice the Crowther's Brick lorry bottom left that had a bright orange livery, also there are two small shops to the right of the photo in the days before supermarkets.

In the background left is the Wilton Spinning Mill and to its right the railway viaduct carrying the Bury to Manchester Electric train Service. Compare with HRS 2833 view after re-development.
