HRS 2443 People, Birt Howarth engineer

This photograph of my late father Birt Howarth (born 1900) was taken around 1921 by the Bury photographer AG Ankers. "Seasons Greetings" is clearly visible bottom right and it seems to have been a greetings when he was 21 years old. He served his time as an engineer and worked in heavy engineering ranging from textile machine production to later in life lighter engineering in the aircraft industry.

Curiously the photographer has cut a postcard into three vertical sections one of which is illustrated - presumably to keep down his costs. KH
