Harold Wilson, Labour Prime Minister at Radcliffe 1974

Photo courtesy of Roy Bolton. Personal note: One of the 1st oral history interviews I ever did for the North West Sound Archive was with Harold Wilson in Radcliffe at this event. We talked about his passion for railways. His great grandfather worked on the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway and he recalled being told about him stopping the local branch train to see if he had caught any rabbits in the snares at the foot of the embankment! The recording is now held at Manchester Central Library Audio-visual Archive in Manchester. KH
