The Valley of Holcombe Brook lies to the west of Harcles Hill above Ramsbottom in Lancashire. Most of the area is restricted Ministry of Defence and is an active firing area. The photos were taken as part of a report for archaeologists working on a site within this restricted area. WARNING - DO NOT under any circumstances enter the Range. For further information email us and we will put you in touch with the local archeaology group. The Valley shows various glacial features and anomalies. The restricted nature of the site with possible live ordnance on the ground makes fieldwork difficult, the photos illustrate an interpretation made within those restrictions of safe access.
