The Crimea Pass carries the A470 between Dolwyddelan and the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The quarries lie to the west of the main road summit car park and can be easily seen by walking along the old tramroad. Warning: Many of the quarries are open have straight drops for 100s of feet to the underground workings - take great care when approaching these.
