HRS 6007 Llandudno, Little Orme fluting NE face 2006

At several places at Great and Little Orme there is evidence of horizontal fluting in the Carboniferous limestone. Could they be solution features formed by meltwater at the end of the Ice Age? Similar flutings can be seen in the limestone at Humphrey Head in Cumbria. Another possibility is that they represent lateral ice scouring into the limestone.
