"This is THE HEAT TREATMENT DEPT. After the forging process the wheels were put into wagons (this was at the end of the video) then they were transported by a Loco to the heat treatment dept.
They were stacked on a bogie and put into the heat treatment re-heat bogie furnaces.
When they reached the required temp. They were lifted out and dipped into a large tank containing quenching oil and after a specified time lifted out.
This process annealed the wheels that were under stress from forging".
