A view looking taken north west on the Bolton branch of the summit level of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury Canal. The canal workshop's can be seen behind the horse-riders on the left and the overgrown area opposite is the site of Joe Lansdale's day-boat used to repair on the canal.
The viewpoint was also used in the 1970 film "Spring and Port Wine" starring James Mason and Diana Coupland. James Mason is seen walking along the towpath.
