Astley Hall according to Nikolaus Pevsner "It is more sweepingly glazed than any (hall) in England." It is glazed all the way along the Long Gallery at the front of the House. The building dates back to the 15th Century, and occupied by the Charnock family from about 1575. The ceiling in the entrance hall has superb mouldings.
