Cecil Clavering joined the Harry Weedon practice as an assistant in 1933 and was responsible for the design of the Odeons at Colwyn Bay, Scarborough and Sutton Coldfield. This Odeon closed in 1957 and the building remained disused until it reopened as the Astra Entertainment Centre in 1967 with a cinema and bingo club. It closed in 1986 and flats were built on the site". RIBA
