Conwy tubular railway bridge RIBA16029

The view from Benarth towards Conwy Castle shows several interesting features. Tube no 2 has not yet been lifted into position. In front of the castle there is a large construction possibly of timber and a smoking chimney. Was this a winding house or some kind? It appears the tube is being assembled ready for the high tide.

Print from Edwin Clark. The Britannia and Conway tubular bridges (London, 1850), plates vol., pl. XXXVII Artist George Hawkins
