Conwy Tubular Bridge 1848 RIBA16031

The print shows Conwy Castle on the left built by Edward 1st. On the right of the photo a group of men physical haul or winch the distant floating bridge tube into position ready for lifting. The site of the huge capstan is now a bowling green.

Note train on embankment on the left.
