In 1966 Woodside was still the principal transport hub in Birkenhead, with the majority of bus services still connecting to the ferries. On the right, Woodside Railway Station (the Great Western Railway's access to Liverpool) still enjoyed through services to London. The ferry building still survives, and there is a modern bus terminal, but this is used by far fewer services. The bus is one of a batch of Guys built during the war and rebodied in the 1950s, so it was over 20 years old and still doing yeoman service when this view was taken." Text AMR
