Porthmadog is a small town on the west coast of North Wales. Famous for being the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway and as as a port for shipping Welsh slate. The Ffestiniog Railway is noteworthy for its unusual; narrow gauge double-ended steam locomotives known as Fairlie's, designed to negotiated the tight bends of the line to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
