William (Billy) Johnson 1901-c1980 technically a Victorian, lived in Besses o'th Barn, Whitefield, Manchester, retiring to Grange-over-Sands. He owned a small sewing thread manufacturing company in Radcliffe, and later a handloom carpet works at Saddleworth. He had a keen life-long interest in photography and cine. His photographs illustrate his passion for cycling, with his wife Alice, in North Wales and in the Lake District.
