The Cartmel Peninsula is in south Cumbria, in the English Lake District. It has an important abbey at Cartmel, the stately home of the Cavendish family at Holker Hall, is adjacent to Morecambe Bay, and Grange-over-sands. The fishing village of Flookburgh is largely unaltered as is Allithwaite.
